1967 Datsun 411 bluebird. 4 sp., 1600cc, dual su carbs, 4 door sedan. Just a fun little car with decent pep. Had yellow high beams useful and trippy in the fog. Hey man, underdash 8 track, the speakers from the family garrard suitcase stereo in the rear window, . When everyone ws into bugs it had more room, better seats, same gas mileage. Mine was maroon. A local guy has a wagon that he keeps up as a daily driver. I'd get another one for sure.http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/pit/3823/blue2.html
Those Roadrunners were beautiful.
I loved my 79 Rabbit, 4 speed, 1.5 Jetronic, regular gas, no converter, 40mpg. I put 250k on it with one clutch, while it rusted out from under me. Drove across the country twice, lived in it for 4 months in LA while I was "finding myself.." haha Lots of first kisses in that little metal box, fun trips to beach with my wife to be, and a few near misses while practicing apexes. With original Fulda tires it could accelerate uphill in 8 inches of new snow and smash through snow banks with ease while 4x4s were sliding around. Bumpers were 1/8" thick rolled steel beam so it made a good battering ram. Oh yeah, it was valued at $200 (legal minimum), so excise tax was <$1. I don't wish I still had it, but I have some good memories. Running wide open on Masspike tunnel under Boston back bay, published top speed 101mph (NOT!) 0-60 10 seconds woohoo! Driving from Boston to NYC through blizzard to see Blakey. It was a survival machine, like an Abrams tank. and Made in USA!!
