What size Parts Express box for a MTM?

What is the best size PE box for an A/V-3 Neo? .75 or 1.0? I assume it would be sealed.

I am pretty sure that the AV3 Neo version is still a transmission line speaker. PE does not sell an equivalent box.

You are correct. I should have said the A/V-3 Neo Center. I am looking at the PE Curved boxes for a center channel. So what would the better volume be .75 or 1.0?

If I've done my math right, it seems Danny's AV3 Center box is .75 or very close. So if using a PE Curved box with the known problems of overstating volume would the .75 or 1.0 be the better choice?

Actually the sealed box version is about .55 cubic feet.

The second thing to look for in a box is keeping the frontal area down to a minimum. The designed front baffle is 18.75" by 8". I would stray too far from that.

I've looked up the PE baffle the .75cf is 17" by 10" and the 1.0cf is 22" by 9". Are these so different that using them would be an issue?

Sorry for all the questions, but I don't want to waste my money when the real solution is to build my own or contract someone to do it for me.

When I looked at PE cabinets I noticed that there often were two versions, one called MTM with a narrower front and a TWC with a little wider front.
TWC is 10" and the MTM is 8" for the .75 curved sides. Looking at the box plans it would seem the 8" would work assuming 8" is better sonically than 10". Certainly its closer to Dannys designed box.

Just some thoughts. For whatever they are worth.

Also, keep in mind that Danny determined that the PE cabinets were actually smaller volume than advertised, so it was then best to use their 1 ft^3 cabinet when a design called for a .75 ft^3 cabinet. I think I remember that PE finally acknowledged the problem and was going to instruct their supplier to increase internal volume - don't know if that's been done yet.

I double checked which cabinets I was looking at and must not have looked at the correct box before. These are the baffle sizes:

MTM .75cf = 8" by 20"
MTM 1.0cf = 9" by 22"

It was the curved boxes that had less volume than advertised.

These are pretty easy boxes to build. So what you do is say, hey Hank! How much to build me one of these?

It will be shortly. I am just waiting on some enclosures to arrive so that I can get the network designed. This is one of two pairs that were recently built. I await the arrival of the other pair.

They are TL's like the AV3. The terminus is in the back. They can be front terminated as well. The second pair is prettier...

Actually the N3 is about 1.4 cubic feet of air space.

Sealed will require .5 cubic feet.

A sealed Neo-2X requires .5 cubic feet.

The SW-12-04 needs 1.5 cubic feet.

So with either of them up top plus a single servo sub will be about 2 cubic feet of air space. That lower section surrounding the sub will need to get pretty beefy too so it may appear slightly larger.
