I wouldn't agree that the whole thread is in bad form as it does bring attention to the fact that multiple unauthorized vendors appear to be selling Bryston equipment and James has mentioned that the list of authorized dealers is posted on the Bryston web page. If I were in the market for Bryston gear, I would search out the authorized dealers and support the company making great gear.
It is an eye opener for me to see so many unauthorized places selling Bryston equipment.
Cheers,
Tom
While this is true the thread title also publicizes this POS business everytime we post!!! That is what I personally find offending and anyone with half a brain would think twice before pubilizing the name of a business in a thread title undercuts a company in that company's forum for petes sakes.
Cheers,
Robin
Hi Robin!
Hey you are obviously very upset and I am truly sorry if I have offended you. My sense about this topic (right or wrong) has just been different from yours, that's all. You see, it seems to me that James and everyone at Bryston are actually more than happy to be as completely open and public as possible about these apparently shady, and surprisingly numerous, online vendors - in fact the more public exposure the better! - as this of course is the best way to outmarket them and reach the new-buying, online-shopping public. In fact I now see (thanks James!) the current list of 8 vendors that Bryston publishes/warns about on their own very public website, and perhaps the other vendors that myself and others have asked about here will now get added to that list as well.
Not everybody has a local dealer that we wish to buy from - and we all further know that James is always happy, welcoming and available to take all questions here on the forum. He has also always been extremely helpful to me personally on this usually friendly forum here, whenever I ask anything (which I've greatly appreciated I might add).
So I see, that so far in this thread Robin, you have accused the OP (me) of being low-class and half-brained -- and who knows, maybe you are right! (how would I know?

). I rarely worry about whether my questions come across as too base or too dumb. Instead I prefer to just ask, rather than remain ignorant!

Either way though, "low-class and half-brained" is certainly not intentional, and please know that I do always try to do my genuine best - and I hope you will please feel better and accept my apology.
And once again, thanks to James and everyone else who kindly opted to help me and others with their replies in this thread, as you have helped this potential buyer avoid some wolf-in-sheeps-clothing vendors. I think it is important, and I'd definitely rather my potential purchases of Bryston gear, would actually support Bryston.
