Shouting in the Datacenter

Pardon me if this has made the rounds already but was new to me and thought others might find it interesting. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tDacjrSCeq4 Shows the effects of simple vibration on data retrieval. Now where are those Iso-Cones

Very interesting video Chris. This simply justifies why I've been using Mapleshade MegaMount Triplepoint cones under my HTPC that sits on top of my 6 shelf Sanus rack. I personally like these cones becuase of their added mass of brass and double isolation, both from the top and the bottom. For my exterior Hard Drive tho, I use IsoBlocks. :thumb:

Not just that, but also hush-boxes. Sounds like it's a good idea to "box them up" not just so we can't hear them, but so they can't hear us (well, hear our tunes that is).

Although, I think that fellas motive is to create a salespitch for his supervisor to make his work area quieter.
"Yes, Sir, if you could lower the noise level about 40dB, the equipment will work harder and faster".

Good video, thanks Chris
