I agree, Hantra.  I listened to the Wilson Sophia's intensively and was sorely tempted to buy them.  At $12K I just couldn't manage it in the end.  I opted to buy Meadowlark Blue Herons instead for $9K, which have a very different design philosophy but pleased me just about as much.  I listened to both through my elderly Spectral gear and cables.  the BH's might be a hair polite at the very highest frequencies but nevertheless are quick and throw a wide yet virtually palpable soundstage.  I'm a sucker for that.

Its always a pleasure to discover that great results can come of widely varying designs.  JoshK's RM40's with digital amplification and mcrespo's Reference 3A MM De Capo I's with tubes both impressed the NY audio circle crowd.  I don't think anyone would say they sounded alike but I think all would agree that they were both pleasing.
