I voted yes but have to say I don't hear any difference. Although it's been a long time since my system has seen a stock pc.

It would be interesting to hear the results if you ripped 'em all out & repled them with stock cords.
Not that I'd do that in my system-too much of a pain in the ass.

Now would be a good time to put the stock cords back in for comparison one at a time. The omission of the aftermarket cords may prove interesting. Give it a try and let us know your findings. Nothing to loose.

Does DIY count as "after market"?

I keep finding it interesting that so many people argue that they can or cannot hear the difference between cables and if a difference even exists.      Tried expensive cables and hear zero difference but it took me awhile to be honest with myself.

It's now 5 to 1 against your zero difference statement unfortunately so,,,,,,

Actually, the poll is whether you use them, not whether you hear a difference... ;)

Let's start a thread - do you hear any difference using after-market PCs?  Then, compare results to this one may be.

Only one problem with that. You would get people answering that they don't hear a difference without actually sitting down and giving it a shot. A precondition for responding to the poll would be that you actually did a comparison and not basing a response on a preconceived notion without experimentation.

I've neither heard nor measured any meaningful difference.

Aftermarket power cords seem to make more of a difference with some components than others.  I have noticed a positive difference in most cases but in one case the sound of the power amp got worse.  In fairness that power cord was not intended for a power amp and the same power cord made a positive difference in quieting my turntable motor.

I have found the JPS power cables to be a good value for the money.

I tried an exotic power cord and a power conditioner in two experimental conditions: clean-ish utility power, and power filtered through an isolation transformer.

Both products made a slight difference with utility power, but no difference whatsoever with the isolation transformer. Standard cords and the isolation transformer were the best, and cheapest, solution.

Plitron makes a very good one for a few hundred dollars - but it does growl, so you want to site it outside the listening room.
