He has apparently done some type of trademark search and deemed all four of the names listed clear of trademark issues.

It would seem that Danny wasn't that thorough in his search as JBL uses the TM insignia behind the name Venue as in - The Venue™

He knew about the JBL line in the first thread, it was discussed prior to starting this thread.

I spent a few hours listening to the test box at Danny's, in his original post he said it has some of the best traits of a variety of different speaker types, I agree.

Art,

Do you think these new speakers could run with your bad boys?

As stylish as that loudspeaker is, the last thing I'd want them to do is diappear.

That's some rock solid eye candy imho. :)

Danny for your other new speakers I'll put a name out their ahead of time..

                       GR Reasearch STANCE!

                        stance  (stns)
n.
1. The attitude or position of a standing person or animal, especially the position assumed by an athlete preparatory to action. See Synonyms at posture.
2. Mental posture; point of view: "Peru ... has also toughened its stance toward foreign investors" Abraham F. Lowenthal.

They haven't actually filed for it yet. They still could and it could be a problem though. I will look into this further.

I still think that these speakers are special for two reasons.

1. they represent the essence (another cool name) of what speaker design to GR.  If I understand it right, Danny's speakers are kits and allow other people to "customize" them.  With this speaker it is more personal, in that the speaker is designed and built in house.  This allow Danny to offer a new take on how "it should be done".

2. This hobby is not about the gear, but about the music.  The gear is the means to an end, that end is a better interpretation or rendition of the music.  This is the very heart of what makes music so special, we can connect with the composer, the musician, and the listener in a very personal way.  Now we get the chance to experience this through GR's take.  It just seems to flow.

I am not ever going to be able to get into some speakers of this caliber, but I can enjoy the music as rendered by my humble but well loved rig.

All about the music and how it connects and moves us.  It sounds like these speakers will allow the music to speak for itself.

I like rendition.

The Venue.  Amongst the titles listed, I like what the word implies.  Front and center.

I am still hitting a few trademark snags and a new twist or two (that will be good). Hang in there just a bit longer.

Sorry for the delays in getting back to this thread. I have a lot revolving around this thing that is going in new directions.

The kit needs a name though. Various trademarks and other uses kind of snagged the early contenders.

I am now considering the name Apollo. There is no trademark on it for this industry but the name is being used by another company for a CD player that is in their product line. I don't see any confusing them though.

What are you guys thoughts on the Apollo name?

How about something a bit more feminine like Casseopia or Venus?

Or what about calling it simply "Music"?
