120L sealed? That's way too small for a Tempest-X driver, IMO.http://img137.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=99351_120l-sealed-tempest-x_122_874lo.jpgAt 1000W input. of course, a horn would be different.. but what about the frequency range?
Ok... I'm not sure where to start.#1. Tempest-X is out of stock until Feb. 2009. It is getting some updated parameters as we increased the BL a little to better optimize it for smaller enclosures. It also has dual 2-ohm coils, stitched-in tinsel leads and slightly more power handling due to the larger diameter coil.#2. Sicko-21" is in a holding pattern until we can get the cost down and find a build-house that will take it on. I hope to make this a reality but for the moment, it is in a holding pattern.#3. We will have finished loudspeakers by the end of 2009. The lineup will be a monitor, LCR monitor and a powered bass module that is designed to work with the monitors making them active designs with a high quality Hypex Class D amplifier solution and my own active signal processing. For the moment those are the biggest adventures scheduled for next year.

I'd love to see an 8" driver with a dual-gap motor, a shorting-ring setup similarly effective to that in my Maelstrom-X, and serious throw. I think it would do well in serious car audio, as well as be a great option for compact monitors to play above Maelstrom-X based subs.
Hi Kevin,Any update on the Tempest X? Also, do you have any pricing yet and enclosure recommendations? Thanks!Jim
How about some more info on the 21?
One 21. Twice my Adire Tumult. Awesome Kevin! A chance to upgrade my Tumult without having to buy a second amp (and run another power line from the circuit breaker.) Wife is tired of black sheet covering Tumult box in corner...What do you think - 8-12 ft^3 ported to about 16Hz? Hook me up!Now how about an 8 or 10 that fits in about a 12" cube, ported to say 30-35Hz (with more of a rolloff to the port resonance than a hump), an xmax of around 25mm (more is okay) and power handling of 700-1000W?In other words, something that will fit in my smaller SUV and car, take all of the power most sub amps put out, get the extra extension of a bass-reflex enclosure, and most importantly NOT sound boomy.I've probably told this story before, but I once achieved the bass I've always wanted with an original Adire Tempest, 8 ft^3, vented at 16Hz (EBS design from Dan I think), in a Chevy Tahoe. It sounded good with all types of music. One problem. Space. I don't think much music really requires 16Hz. So I'd settle for around 30-35Hz. Tempest currently gathering dust in closet.
So what are the odds of this 21 incher playing in my speaker box?Any estimated time and cost?Preorder? Please?
