I wanted to see them live when they were in Toronto, but never made it. It is awesome that they constructed a stand-alone musical tri-instrument from everyday PVC pipe. I saw their Bluray at HMV today and just had to pick it up.

Be well...

Track 3 "High Shelf Booze" should definitely be in your equipment auditioning arsenal:

Nap.  :thumb:

You're the Man Nap... Eilen Jewell is fricken incredible. Love that Americana Roots :thumb:

Her new album "Sea of Tears" is more electric but still has the Americana flavour

Signature Sounds has another artist Jeffrey Foucault to check out:

This album has been used to sell alot of speakers at my local hi-fi shop :D

Chopin's Four Ballades is my favourite piano work. This is the best version although the little known Anita Chang's version is up there too IMO (probably because it's available in 24/96 download  )

Laurie Anderson  "Homeland" (2010)

To be released Jun-22. Listen past the throat singers in the beginning if that's not for you. Lou Reed plays guitar on the album. All songs great especially the song "only an Expert"

You can listen to the entire album here:

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a lucky individual(s), perhaps you - to provide a recommendation for me to broaden my awareness and appreciation of “alternate” music.

Music is such a personal taste and I have noticed that 99.9995% of you here on our most cherished Bryston Circle do not enjoy listening to normal music such as I do - please note that I will not hold this against you.

So, here is the twist - I require a recommendation into this truly unique and most mysterious world of alternate music that so many of you enjoy.

Can someone suggest a great classical guitar CD/SACD (a photo would also be great). Something with a lot of detail and produced to a high standard (no Spanish overtones). Did I say this was for me? Oops… not for me, but…umm, err… a friend, yes for a friend

Check out Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Punks. Should be right up the alley with Abney Park.  :notworthy:

In all honesty, I worked the first three shows on the tour, and I (and many of the crew with me) did not think the cost and effort were in balance with the show that was performed. The whole 360 deg thing was merely a show of testicles, nothing more. In my opinion their second tour was their best, when they were still interested in the music they made. Now money is all they care about.
