This is modern sparse arrangement jazz, so if you don't already like the genre don't bother. Otherwise Marylin Mazur doesn't need no introduction - not after touring as Miles Davis percussionist in the 80' at his invitation.
The recording is absolutely remarkable. It's a live performance recoded by the Danish Broadcasting Corp. I have no idea how they managed to do it, but they went for a very dynamic, raw, organic (even animalic I would dare to say) sound of the acoustic instruments (and there are tons of them featured in the 2 disc album). Very real life like. It's so raw and direct that at times I would swear it's a close miked studio job, but the ambiance and public are there too. If I were to chose one album from my collection that I would like to listen through Laundrew's system, this would be it.
