See if any of your Circuit City or Best Buys have a last years model Onkyo TX-SR805 still on the shelves. I got one a couple months ago for $439 new from Circuit City, it was about $1000 last year. Tons of power, does all the new HDMI audio like TrueHD and Master Audio, has the Audussey XT ... and actually sounds pretty darn good with music. The only thing I wish it has was 2 subwoofer outputs.
We’re also looking for a HT receiver that needs to be wife and kid friendly. I can’t seem to find an SR-805, but Costco is selling the following for $400, reg. $1K:
