Hi Danny and Everyone
There have been many good suggestions, but I think there are two ways to approach this naming thing.  One is to not over-think things and just choose a name.  The name probably does not matter if the product is what people want.  The other is to choose something non-specific like OB DC SUB and let people make of it what they will.  I suspect that Danny is taking his time to choose due to intellectual procrastination and is probably attracted to the second approach.  I doubt one approach is better than the other, just different.  This observation may not help, but it may promote focus on a particular naming strategy (if a name has not been chosen yet).
My best to All

the more i think about it the less reason i see to suddenly change the naming convention that Danny has used so far.

so what if its your best speaker yet?... every speaker is your best speaker yet, hopefully, so why break the mould now for this one?

The name probably does not matter if the product is what people want.

This could not be farther from the truth. However, if we want to follow that line of thinking, let's revisit my previous suggestion of "The Syphilis".

That's a logical argument if Danny wants to keep on doin' what he's always been doing. I have no insight into his intent, but perhaps Danny wants to use this speaker as the catalyst to go after a more upscale / less DIY market, focus his offerings, change the image / perception of what GR Research stands for / offers, etc. If it's really only the sound that matters, make them look like hell, call them "Speaker 9ksSD8#s", ship them in overused cardboard boxes, stop interacting with people on these forums and start giving piss-poor customer service, etc. Am I digressing? No. My point is that an offering is much more than just the product itself - wether we like it or not. We may only want to pay for the drivers, the crossovers, and perhaps some MDF, but what we get is actually much more than the sum of those parts.

Just change the name "Lexus ES350" to "Sweet Ride by Jimmy" (and don't change anything else) and see what happens.

You're going for the high end . .

Some of these names seem so good they could well be trademarked, how about
Ultima      (used by Revel??)
Ultimate
Transcendent     (Transcendent Sound makes amplifiers)
Ultra
Empyrean (sounds noble, means the highest heaven, supposed by the ancients to contain the pure element of fire).

Could you get around the trademark problem by naming them eg Ultima II

(I could be interested in a small prize ;)  )

Cheers,
Rick

Not sure if this has been suggested yet...

How about:

Plinth

The base of a structure or column.

Can be a play on words base/bass and that it forms the base or foundation of the sound you are going to be listening to.
