Source for wire spring bananas?
« on: 19 Nov 2008, 11:28 pm »
Seeking source for banana plugs w/ single lengthwise wire for tension vs. the ubiquitous multi-leaf.  The only ones I've seen were decades ago on Naim cables, nickel plated finish unimportant.

Configuration unimportant: singles, standard 3/4" spaced duals or, if such exist, spaced 1-5/16" for international components.

Thanks!

No, but thanks anyway Bob.

I'll dig up a picture & post if I find one.  The ones I'm wanting seem like the best bananas because of the way the single lengthwise wire maintains tension.  I guess I disfavor the locking Monster bananas because of the extra spade termination required on the speaker wire.

Nope!

Here it is, at least in gold:

Note the single lengthwise tension wire.  IMO you'd never return to split multi-blade types after trying these.  One NAIM dealer has them in nickel but $5ea per polarity, ouch!  They are Deltron brand from England.

What type of pin connectors do you like for the newer binding posts that take only bananas, bare wire or pins?

I've got a set of XLO cables that came with banana's like these. Wonder if they are available separately from XLO?

These work very well. Just finish them off with colored shrinky.

The last two mentioned both look great.  I emailed Acton to see if they ship to USA.

Thanks much for both suggestions!

The only banana mentioned at XLO is a dual-snap-together banana.  Looks like a single wire spring but can't tell for sure.

I found these single Deltron banana's at XLO. Look just like what you have pictured above. Unfortunately, I have no idea who sells these things or at what price. My only Google hit on the part # was for some Polish web site.
