What's for breakfast?
« on: 14 Nov 2008, 06:07 pm »
Rarely do I eat breakfast, but even more rare is finding me in the kitchen early in the morning actually cooking something.
But the other morning I had an overwhelming desire to have a scrambled egg sandwich. Hadn't had one in years. I figure while I was dirtying dishes, I may as well make some for the rest of the family. The only 'taker' was my son. The others opted out and had something healthy instead.

So....
Four large eggs in the cast iron pan with some stick butter (NOT margarine). [check]
Potato bread in the toaster. [check]
Asiago cheese from the fridge. [check]
Kosher salt, whole black pepper and the pepper grinder from the cabinet. [check]
Milk from the fridge and two frozen drinking glasses from the freezer. [check]

My son said I was cool.  8)

What did you have?

Jeezus, your insides must look like hell, Bob, if you have that breakfast too often

16oz of water (with lemon and a pinch of Xylitol...great for the tooth & gum health), a cup of Rice Yogurt (dairy is a giggie no for me :nono:) and 5 Medjool dates (5 minutes in water so they're a little less dry) often starts my day.

Not exactly traditional....but my innards look right purdy now  8)

:drool: Oh STOP John, You're making me hungry!!  :drool: {not}

I'm sure you'll impress the Hell out of guy doing your autopsy.   :rotflmao:

I know, I know.....You'll live longer eating like that. As I mentioned, it's been years since I had one of those.
"The call" from the fridge was irresistible.

Tho I am a dire adherent to the power of (financial) compounding - and that with additional years comes additional opportunities to compound one's investments - I eat well to primarily stay sharp for as long as I am on this earth.

I've seen too much needless suffering from too many folks in the last years of life due to poor and gluttoness eating habits overwhelmingly....my goal is to be healthy throughout than necessarily lengthen my stay here.  But, I know the two are likely intertwined unless odd fate intervenes.

I was never a particularly fetching looking fella' when I was younger....but I see my contemporaries, many born with far finer features and gifts than I, looking and sounding rather a bit older than I do now.

I'll do whatever necessary for me to feel as good as I do today....which is sensational :thumb: (despite watching my net worth plunge 35% the past 8 weeks  )

John

(yeah, I know you prefaced that your breakfast was atypical...but you asked what we ate for our breakfast(s) and mine was exactly what I had at 6:30AM this morning)

Two pieces of toast (bread that I bake) with Blackberry Jelly made by one of my neighbors
One Honey Gold Apple - man are these good!
A few toasted pecans that were left over from making muffing yesterday
Lots of coffee - my own blend - with cream

Understood John.
Even though your (financial) net worth plunged, your net worth with all of us here grows everyday. Thank you for keeping youself healthy. We want to keep you around for a while.   :P

No....  :nono:.... YOUR breakfast will win her over.
Go ahead and splurge John. Just once.
Give your daughter some dammed eggs already.
She'll love ya for it. You can thank me later.

Or, I'm willing to adopt another child. Send her over with the proper papers and release forms.
My kids will love their new sibling.  aa

Sugar= free blueberry pie, 1/4 of a pie to be precise, and 3 scoops of sugar-free vannila ice cream. Normally tho it's just a bowl of Kashi. If I don't have a dessert the night before, it becomes breakfast the next day. :thumb:

Cheers,

Ohhhhh Bob-o....Dada works very hard because any man (I suspect she is hetero) that may want to take her off our hands one day will extort me for an immense dowry 8)

I don't think you want her there, tho she is quite a tonne of fun, but she's harder to 'break' than her Momma was (and I'm a patient man and that took about 15 years )

Ohh! I spy: Asparagus - Pepperoncini - Olive - and......
That's hard core man!! I'm afraid to know what the liquid is.  :o

John, I'll take her for free! I also promise not to plunge into your dowry
I'd love to have more but, unfortunately, I had to buy both of mine.
I can't afford any more.  :(
