Mike,

FWIW, I use a Haley with my ModWright 36.5 DM, Transporter, and DNA500.  The plug end of the DNA cord is a 15a configuration but, as Mark pointed out, the Haley outlets are 20 amp configured (T format) even if the Haley is rated at 15 amps.

As an aside, you may not know that Steve McCormack added the 20amp IEC end to the DNA500 because he felt the connector provided a better connection than the 15 amp, here's a quote from the 2004 SixMoons review:

"In addition, we employ a very sophisticated complement of electronics throughout the DNA-500. This includes Vishay and Caddock resistors, Nichicon electrolytic capacitors, Polystyrene and Polypropylene film capacitors, the Jensen signal transformers, IR and Harris soft-recovery diodes, a massive EI core power transformer and Van den Hul carbon/metal-hybrid output wiring. The DNA-500 also incorporates five of the Soft Shoes damping feet I designed to enhance the performance of my equipment and a 20-amp Hubble plug instead of the more common 15-amp IEC inlet. Why? In my experience, it is not only provides a more stable connection but also sounds a lot better." (my emphasis).

I have not had any problems with the Haley serving current to my system.  Upstream from the Haley I have a 20 amp Furman SPR-20i and it displays current draw.  The only thing plugged into the Furman is the Haley.  Even at 90-95dB with my Salk HT3s, the current readout on the Furman rarely rises above 8 amps.  And I can't hear changes in how the music sounds (other than it being louder) vs. playing at a more moderate listening level (when the current draw is around 4 amps).

Disclaimer:
1) Of course some of the low current reading could be due to averaging on the part of the Furman meter and peak current demand could be higher, but there is some current headroom there to play with.
2) A more astute audiophile might be able to hear the telltail signs of current starvation
3) The AC outlet in my room is only rated to 15 amp anyway and is limiting current at the source -- the Haley would never be the bottleneck

Whatever, works for me.  And sounds like it works for George.

When I run a 20 amp dedicated line to the room, maybe things will change but I kind of doubt it.  The Haley is a sweet product.

David,  interesting... can you comment on what the Furman and/or Haley contribute to sound quality in your system?   On first glance, having both seems redundant in certain areas so I'm curious how both versus either one affects sound quality.    Thanks.
