I think one of the coolest experiences I have had with cable measurements was out at Kimber. Ray encourages us to bring other cables to measure, so we all brought a few. Ray, and one of his engineers would stick one of our cables on this really nice color network analyzer, and they could tell us how the cable was going to sound. It was the most amazing thing.
They really called it like it was. My boy Shawn had some Transparents that they measured, and they nailed the sound of that cable by looking at the measurements. This is something that Ray stresses at his shop. Correlating data with listening is something they all do at Kimber, and it's so scary that they can just characterize a cable that you have been listening to for months, without even hearing it.
