I think that Vodka will make the LP sound "grainy."    :D

Wayner,

Seems like you have dealt with upscaled vodkas that have some additivies in them to soften the taste  :thumb: The cheap stuff is pretty "clean"  :D

grainy is certainly better than potato-ye!

I have a Staticmaster brush somewhere too, so maybe I'll give that a try.

Bear in mind that the lifetime of the polonium cartridge is on the order of a year or 18 months. Its a lot more active when it's new - the half-life of polonium 210 is only 139 days.

The reason I used "Everclear" is that I was sure it didn't contain anything but ethyl alchohol and water; no contaminants such as sugar or perfume.  PS: I was able to find it in Chicago, even though it is illegal in Michigan.

For the last 10+ years I have used an version 1.0 Record Doctor from Audio Advisor. I bought it with a gallon of the 'fluid". Still have most of the gallon. Still seems to work fine, and for everyday quick cleaning I use this fluid on my Discwasher brush.   I have a many years old De-Stat gun (discwasher) which still seems to work.  I have not ever tried soap and water, but I know it's a very popular and useful way to deep clean.

Vinyl lives......
