3B SST, help and info appreciated.
« on: 5 Oct 2008, 09:49 am »
I don't own a Bryston product, but like the sound of the 3B SST, and I find the warranty commendable in this day and age.
My speakers are ATC SCM11, would this be a good match? I currently use an ICE power set up and was considering more of the same but I am drawn to the Bryston name having been aware of it for years via recording studios and hi-fi circles.

Budget constraints and the fact I am in England limit my chances of ownership, I shall keep looking for offers and used units.

Is the 'pro' version just cosmetically different?

Hi Chevvies.

The  Pro series is available in Black 19 inch rack mount faceplate only. http://bryston.ca/14bsstpro_m.html

The consumer C- Series is available with the C-Series cosmetics - in silver or black and in 19 inch faceplate or 17 inch faceplate.

The Pro series also has volume controls in the circuit path on each channel - the consumer C-Series does not.

I usually recommend the C-Series if you want the simplest cleanest signal path and the Pro if you need the volume control on each channel.

I hope James doesn't mind, but if you buy from a pro audio dealer, you can get a new unit at a great price.
