I personally would go for the KEF's They're incredible, in my opinion.

Regardless of which speaker is better to one's ears, I would think the PMC speakers would be a better match considering your current setup. Very nice setup by the way. There is always that little thing called Synergy and not too many speakers I would say have better synergy with Bryston gear than PMC. James, would know of more of course. Cheers.

I don't care for the PMC's...I've heard them and I wasn't impressed. And they're not very good value for the money.

But, it's your money, alexone. So, let your ears be the judge.

Yup, bring some speakers home for an audition. Return the losers.

vegasdave,
Which KEF models are you referring to or have heard?
Thanks.

KEF Reference. The 205/2's. Less bass than the 207/2's but almost equal in the midrange and highs.

I am pairing the Bryston B100 with Harbeth SHL5 speakers (www.harbeth.co.uk) and am really satisfied with the synergy between the two. Some friends who came by for a listen commented that they had never heard the Harbeths sound so good! The Harbeths are an easy load but a more powerful amplifier like the 4B SST would simply make the musical presentation effortlesss IMHO!

Best Regards

Harbeths are good speakers...a little expensive, but you're paying for handcrafted quality. Plus, the exchange rate between the US and UK is very much in favor of the UK.

If you are looking at speakers in the PMC & KEF Ref range have a look at JBL Project Array's.  I spent some time with the 207/2 after reading some great reviews about them although, they did not offer enough low end punch and for 20K plus the mids and highs didn't bowl me over.  Now in there defence the amps & pre/pro used were not in the same league as Bryston.

Give the guy's at Altronics a call for a demo the bid JBL's are definetly worth a demo.

Good luc with the search.

I concur. The JBLs are better than the PMC and KEFs. JBL gets a bad rap in some circles, but they're really good, actually. I have the lowly Studio L890s and they're an incredible value!

As you can see I have identical setup as yours.
Previously owed OB1´s and was very happy with them.
In your 16mq room they will be more than enough.
My vote goes for OB1!

Why the move from the OB1'S, and do you notice the difference in the EB1i'S

Well, my room is 28mq.
It is not that I was not satisfied with OB1. They were really good sounding but once you hear big PMC´s you`re hooked!
Big ones beginning with IB1 and higher have more massive (and controlled) bass.
However they require bigger rooms than yours.
It is actually my wife who insisted on EB1i`s. It was now or never situation as I returned OB1`s and payed the difference for EB1i`s.
Having good Bryston setup like yours with PMC speakers you get synergy automatically.
Regardless of which are your preferred speakers try to bring them home and listen for a few days before making your final decision.
Maybe I am lucky enough to be friends with our local dealer and have the possibility to try out at home most of Bryston/PMC gear.

An excellent company that gets very little recognition is Audio Physic.  They've got an outstanding line up of speakers.  I haven't heard every model, but every one I've heard has been phenominal.  For some reason, there are very few dealers, and even fewer reviews.  Its too bad that speakers this good aren't getting their share of publicity.

Anybody here running Salk speakers with Bryston gear?  I have a pair of SongTowers on order and wonder how well they will match up sonically with a 3BSST...  Any insight?  At 88dB efficiency and an easy 4-ohm load, the 3BSSt would have plenty of power, but I'm just curious as to the "synergy" of this pairing.

Thanks!

Never tried it but I can't imagine any reason why it wouldn't work...both are extremely well-made products, balanced and clean sounding...should sound amazing!

predrag is right, the big PMCs are the best of the line, unless you wanna go for the real big ones...forgot the model #.
