What is DIO?

No, not the 80's metal band.  :lol:

Sorry if this is a mundane question. Is DIO the same as D/IO?

Just trying to learn some of the lingo. Thanks!

Actually I think it's a DI/O ;-)

It's a DAC made by a company called ART, which a lot of people like modifying, and most who do report good results. You can also get it commercially modded (Bolder). It's intended market is the home studio market (I think) which is why it has 1/4 inch jacks on it. It costs typically $130 (pre mods) from fullcompass.com, although occasionally they have been known to be cheaper (I paid 100 on a closeout)

There is a Yahoo group dedicated to DIO mods, in fact I believe that is the name of it: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DIOmods/

ok, but what does 'D' 'I' 'O' , and while we are at it, the '/' stand for?
