Recital in honor of John Blaine

Hi everybody,

I got a call from Dennis Bergin on Wed. night. He's giving an organ recital to honor the memory of John Blaine on Sunday, October 5 at 2pm at Christ Church Cathedral. This sounds like a wonderful event, and it would be great if we could show up in numbers for this. The recital is free. Sorry, I didn't want to just add this to the upcoming concerts thread. I wanted to get the word out as soon as I could.

Will have to check the calendar but would love to attend. It would be great if we could record it in memory of John.

How are you? I've been aiming to call you since I've gotten home, but haven't done it yet. I like your idea of trying to do something extra. What about pooling some funds and making a donation to the Christ Church Cathedral recital series in honor of John?

I've got a rehearsal that afternoon, but I would love a recording of the recital and to contribute to the recital series. Let us know who will collect the money for the donation.

Recording the recital and making a nice donation to the recital series is a great idea, I'm in. I'll collect the funds--I will accept Visa or MasterCard payments too--and I'll start the fund with a $50 donation--OK guys, pony up.

Thanks, Chris. I'll be able to make a donation later this month.

I talked with Dennis and he is perfectly fine with having the recital recorded. However, I'll need to get permission from Pat Partridge at the cathedral as well. I'll report back after I find out.

Joe said that he is fine with recording the recital. I left a message for Pat at the cathedral. Fingers are crossed.

We have permission from Pat to record the recital, so everything is a go right now. Joe will do the honors for us. We'll have to clear pretty quickly after the recital, since there is another program that starts at 4pm in the cathedral.
