It's up and running.  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH   For smaller classical and jazz I'm using the cj MV -52 but Montrose needs more than 45 watts of PP so in goes the Innersound ESL.   :o  (Scott, don't even think about the Yamamoto )  It's just too fun!  The bottom Advents are Originals from 1975 and the tops are some Advent 1s I picked up a month ago at Euclid Records for 30 bucks.  Just got the woofers back from being re-foamed and the fun has begun.  Stands are audiophile approved Rubbermaid stepping stool and wire is the low voltage lighting wire from Wal-Mart.  It is a mandatory listen for every student of the listening art.  SteveK, bring back your "666" album and maybe some of Scott's "Mama's Pride" and we'll really rock out.  Serious fun for about $275 investment in speakers and re-foaming the two Advents.

This is just one more plug for a "Vintage Night" with the GAS boys.  Bring what you used to run and let it rip!  The stacked Advents will just make you smile.  Everybody think about it.  I'm sure you've got something packed away in the basement or closet that would qualify as vintage.  Then we'll bring them up on a variac if necessary and double-check the fire insurance on the house and crank it up.     I've already got the Quadraflex table ready to rock and the stacked Advents versus the Altecs and maybe the Sansuis in the garage.  It would be a great night.

AHH! Advents, I got a pair of 3s for small bookshelfs they are very lively and musical. When I first got them, I thought I got ripped off until I hooked them up! With a HK 430 those babies ROCK! I got a Sansui 8080 I bet would rock on those Advents you got. Nice looking setup you got there, I bet it sounds as good as it looks! And to think, I was the only one with Rubbermaid speaker stands!

Awesome Mark! And I love the "Transformer" stands! It looks like they could walk around the room. I should bring the big VTL's out for a real ass kickin! (AFter the summer that is).

acwd1950, I also have a pair of the 3s.  Surprising bass out of those little 6 inch woofers.  Who knows, maybe someday I'll have a full Advent 5.0 surround setup.  Stacked Originals for L/R ,the Advent 1s doubled up as center and the 3s doing surround duty.  That would be something you wouldn't see every day. :thumb:

Scott, the Radiis would be really dangerous with this setup in the exercise room next to the Altecs.  I'm going to re-cap the Advent 1s; tweeter is too gritty for my tastes and I'm hoping to sweeten it up a little bit.  The cj is back from being fixed and it is doing a great job driving single Advents, but the stack seems to be a little too much for it.  Still, lots of grins when the rig is playing.  And Steve, VTL would be great too, but after the summer season for sure.
