Thanks "B" I'll run by Radio Shack on the way home tonight. I wasn't sure how easy it would be to locate knobs that were small enough to reach in, given the amount of clearance available.ThanksAlan
Hi John, Good to hear from you! I picked up a used Butler TDB 2500 off Audiogon. It just arrived yesterday afternoon, and with the final Cardinal playoff game last night, I didn't get in much listening time. Hooked up full range to the RM40S, my first impression leads me to think it may be powerful enough to run on its own. I had been bi-amping with a VTL-85 on top and the Carver ZR-1600 on the bass. What I may have been running into is, that with the crossover at 280HZ, the Carver was still pretty rough sounding to my OLD ears. It seems that Brian may have tested the Carver way back when, and also found it a little rough. The Butler seems to have smoothed thinks out quite a bit. I have hooked up with the GAS guys here in St. Louis, they have been really great for a novice like me. I really don't understand a lot of what's going on, but luckily that are a patient group. I'm having a few of them over next weekend, I really wish you were close enough to join us. Alan
