In the spirit of getting out of our audio world, and the fact that
my teenager has dragged me to see all of these, I've been pondering
which one of these characters I'd rather be.

Feel free to join in.

Vote and of course some commentary!!

You left out Spiderman, what's up with that?

He's always been my favorite basically cuz he has MJ by his side whereas all the others are pretty much loners or freaks.

I wanna say Superman as a safe pick, but it's too safe and boring, he not bad*ss enough.

As a youth they used to call me Aquaman because I was a water lover, used to be able to hold my breath pretty long and love to comb the bottom of the pool etc..., later was on the swim and diving teams, became a life guard and so on. Learned how to swim, self taught, after being pushed in the deep end and feeling like I was going to drown.

Just a brain fart, and I haven't seen a Spider Man movie in a while
so it was off my radar. Good point.

Guess, we'll have to consider him part of the "other" column

However for part of it, I was thinking of Batman and Iron Man
as having alter eqos as millionare playboys with a lot of cool
cars and cool toys to go along with.

Unfortunately Superman and Hellboy (as well as SpiderMan)
fall off the list here.

Well see that's where we look at things differently. Money & toys are all fine n' dandy but in the long run I'd rather have the love of my life along with living a normal life outside of the superhero gig. The long and endearing love that Peter & MJ have is very compelling to superhero's who usually don't have that luxury available to them.

I'd rather be the Phoenix - Guardians of the Galaxy version - I don't have the hips for the Jean Grey version. The freedom to roam the universe and only use my powers when necessary. I could have a "normal" family life and then do what was necessary when needed.

Green Lantern all the way. I really wish they would do a movie with him. I guess even with CG, it's still difficult.

I'd suggest being a dad. Batman, Iron Man are all stupid cartoon characters that I certainly don't give one shit about. I do care about the kids and who they are now days finding as an "idol". The acorn does not fall far from the tree and kids are watching you, copying your every move and thought. Take warn.

I second your post, but I would not put it so bluntly. To be honest, there are too many real history or live characters that are more worthy of imitating than any of these superheroes. If I see what my son would like, he is turning three, he likes one anti Hero more than all the others he seems to know. In his mind, Spongebob beats Spiderman, Hulk and Batman in popularity. I am glad that PeeWee Herman is no longer playing on TV.

I would have to choose other. We had an older member here who's moniker was The Tick! I enjoyed that series.
I would go with Gilbert Shelton's Wonder Wart-Hog. An alternative hero. And he likes vinyl and the Fugs. "It Crawled Into My Hand, Honest!"
