I still think it's pretty expensive for a 12MP full frame camera when a Canon 5D can be picked up for AU$2300. I can't get over the fact that 12MP is Nikon's largest MP camera. But I did see the D3 files shot at high ISO and it was pretty good.

Guys PLEASE excuse my newbee question but it looks like the crowd who can help fellow AC member out.
Since you guys definitely know what you are talking about ...can you recommend a semi-pro d-camera under 1K.
I was looking at Canon Rebel xsi , Nikon d60, Sony alfa and Canon powershot 12.1mp for size and build quality.

Please help me choose.

Hey!

Mariusz, this will make the thread a long one. Get ready for it.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you end up with. :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

I apologize for steering away from the original thread......I just thought that starting new thread would not make sense. Just looking for smart, quick tips and suggestions.

Sorry for interruption

Mariusz

Hey!

No need to apologize here. :D It's OK.

But like low.profile I think making another thread could be more suitable. With that you could tell us what you are looking for in a new camera. :D

After all this thread is about the new Nikon FF DSLR of which will definitely be more than $1K for sure.

We are in a time where there are lots of DSLRs at $1K or less on the market right now. Finding one that you are comfortable with will take sometime. :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Hey!

Thanks Mariusz. :D Nothing much there mostly just fun shots to share. Maybe if someday you stop by my place I could show some other photos I have that I've never got around to put up on the Flickr... well actually I think it is better to see some of these prints in person than through the  internet on computer screen. :D
