I've been doing some research about raising/breeding crickets recently.  But only because they are a convenient food source for the bearded dragon we're going to acquire.  I'll let my wife know that we can share the meal with the lizard, especially if we need to start tightening our proverbial belts during the forthcoming recession years.

If anybody needs the name of a nearby cricket farm, you can find a bunch of them here: http://www.feederlist.com/archives/category/united-states/united-states-crickets/.

I agree, if you are going to eat crickes you should go "All In' and eat Roaches.  The thing is, it is the exact opposite of what you normally look for.  Instead of a free range raised animal that is raised on pesticide free land, you want one of them city raised mutant roaches.  You know the kind. when you spray them with pesticide they rear up on their hind legs and say. "Is that all you got Bitch?"  Now those would have some flavor!!
