Down with censorship!

Long live freedom of speech!!

However if you lack discretion,
especially by being disrespectful,
don’t expect everyone to condone
or appreciate your remarks.

When you enter into a vendor’s circle,
think of yourself as being inside their place of business.
If you don’t have anything nice to say..... keep quiet.
Once you leave the premises, then by all means
exercise your right and speak your mind.

Isn’t that both logical and reasonable??

Furthermore, if you inadvertently offend,
offer an apology without excuses or justification.

btw, George/zybar, a most rewarding and endearing thing about you is your lack of prejudice and relative neutrality on audio subjects far and wide.

If you like it, you say so.  If you don't, you state it - and generally add reason why (which are helpful to me and others based on responses in this topic).

I just think those valuable opinions are best left on general interest circles (or PM's, or phone calls, etc)....not a vendor's shop.

If you made the same remarks on the Critic's Circle you did on SP Tech's recently...I'd go outta' my way as co-Facilitator to uncircle the wagons of criticism around you.  That's the Critics Circle....and save making personal insults about someone...(substantiated) criticism of audio products is allowed there.

But, not in a vendor's 'store'.  He pays for that 'store', it's an extension of his business and an integral part of his marketing effort(s)....he (the vendor) has the right to escort you from his property and his associates (or customers, in this case) have the right to ask you to tone it down or leave.

Anyhow, I'm not looking to pile on, I just wanted to fully illuminate my stance on the subject.

Regards, John

And I would wholeheartedly agree with you if Bob of SP TECH had a problem with George's post but that's not the case here, is it? The facts are Bob has always encouraged any opinion on his Circle so long as it's presented respectfully.  :thumb:

Cheers,
Robin

This isn’t just about Bob and SP Tech, but all the vendors.  It’s a matter of principle and good etiquette.

BTW, I doubt Bob has seen any of it as of yet.  However I'm inclined to think that Bob would rather be gracious and let it slide then take offense.

I should also add that I don't have a vested interest in SP Tech.  I don't own any of their products, nor do I intend to.  If I were in the market for new speakers, I'd be moving in the direction of the Emerald Physics, largely due to George's influence and my preference for open baffle.

This thread is very alarming to me......I didn't realize people were actually paying attention to George!   :green:

(you know I'm kidding Geo)

I honestly didn't see any issue with his post, let's move on and if Bob or the system owner have any issue they can take it up with George directly, I'm sure they don't need us to manage that for them...

Wind Chaser, how did you read Zybars "offending" post?  What did his words mean to you?

Thanks

To get off on a tangent, I am offended by Satfrat's use of commas in lieu of the ellipsis…  It's not like it keeps me up at night or anything, but it does really bug me.  What's up with that?  Those hideous commas seem far more grating than Zybar's insidious, violent, hateful and racist comments directed at SP Tech speakers and how dead shitty they sound and how Bob ought to be thrown into a chipper shredder.  Zybar may destroy a company and a man's livelihood with his careless and evil opinions, but what about the destruction of the English language at the hands of Satfrat?  It seems far more odious to me,,,,that goes beyond the bounds of vendor circles,,,,and into the very fabric of our lives as internet communicators,,,,,,,

Zybar may destroy a company and a man's livelihood with his careless and evil opinions,

Bob is slow, and his ability (or lack thereof) to predict build completion dates is almost comically bad.  It's always been that way, and no one remotely familiar with SP Tech - or has even casually followed threads here - should should be surprised by repeated delays and long waits.  It's part and parcel to doing business with SP Tech.

Seems like Zybar isn't the only careless one... :duh:

Truly we must focus on the greater evil here should we start a new thread on this

Allow me to quote Frank S, the same man that George referred to in his post that triggered this whole debate.

My initial reaction after seeing George’s comments, in the context in which it was posted, was kind of a knock on SP Tech.

That's precisely the way I saw it, along with numerous other people too.

Paraphrasing things Bob himself has voiced publically is hardly "careless" IMHO.  It's a simple statement of fact, and everyone who's done business with SP Tech knows it.  For some, the product is worth the wait.   For others, not so much.

Almost anything taken out of context can be made to look bad or irresponsible, Rob... but you already know that.

FWIW, Frank's comments mirror my take on George's post.  It doesn't mean our perception is any more accurate or that we're more intuitive than anyone else, but like George, we're entitled to our opinion.

Perception really is reality IMHO, and our own experiences, preconceived notions and predispositions conspire to make us see what we expect - or sometimes what we want - to see.  As is the case with most things audio-related, there is no right or wrong -- it is what it is to each of us, individually.
