Hey Folks,
Preface: I'm posting this because I'm very proud of what we accomplished with the simple tools that we had and I wanted to share with all of you great folks.
I just finished a 3 week long DIY project that just so happened to be my first DIY Audio project. I used the recipe for Tony Gee's Flexi-Table plus, which can be found at
http://www.humblehomemadehifi.com/Flexy.html . I used 1/2" boards of MDF and sandwiched three layers together with the cutout's that Tony Gee used. I then filled each cut out on each shelf with silica sand (ashtray sand), which turned out to be 12lbs of sand per shelf. We (My pops and I) found some nice molding to cover the edges and also slim down the look of the 1.5" shelf. The threaded rod used for this stand was 5/8" so it is very solid. I now have plenty of room compared to my old B&M TV stand.
You can see what the stand looks like in my gallery:

Thanks for taking the time,
-Pete
