I'm not sure exactly which panels you are referring to by ASC (their website doesn't have a "sound panels," they have "Mixcloud," "SoundPlanks," and "Panel Traps") so it's difficult to make a recommendation not knowing what the frame construction is like. I agree with what Bryan has stated, a couple of inches of air space between the panel and the wallboard would be most beneficial.
In my experience, I found the studs and used drywall screws (heads painted white to match ceiling color) and 50# kite string in one application and in another application I used a two inch diameter by 8' long thick walled cardboard tubes held up with the kite string and the panels resting on top of them.
I wanted to stay away from glue and felt it would be much easier to patch the screw holes than a torn wallboard surface.
