TBI subwoofers

Jay,

You might want to check out TBI subwoofers (formerly VBT subwoofers).  Amazingly small, these subwoofers have that "wow I can't believe this little box creates so much bass" factor :).  They're based on a new patent-pending technology.  While they can't match VMPS subwoofers in raw output, they're astoundingly musical, and very, very compact.  The smallest subwoofer is only 14.5 x 14.5 x 4.5 (inches).

Reviews here (one even has nOrh 6.9 speakers for the tests):

Manufacturer's website:
www.subwoofersolutions.com

These subs are passive (there is a single active model), but due to their technology extremely easy to drive.

In an effort to increase awareness of these new subs, I welcome you to try one in your home for a free trial, without a single charge (not even shipping).  Please contact me if you're interested.

Kind Regards,

Rup

Rup,

Thank you for the lead and for the very generous offer.  The form factor is perfect for what I have in mind (I'd like to put the sub between my speakers next to a bunch of throw pillows).  I'm going to do read the info I can find online this evening and will get back to you in a day or so.

Thanks, and regards,

- Jay

Hi Rup,

I've beend doing some reading on these very interesting subs...  I was wondering if you could clarify the low pass frequency and filter slope of the VBT amps.  The website says that the lowest low pass frequency is 50 Hz (but that it is at -12 dB at that frequency).  Does this mean that the actual cut off starts higher?  Specs also say that the XO has a 4th order slope.

On the other hand, the review in 6moons says that the low pass XO frequency is 80 Hz, with a slope of -30dB/octave.

I am asking since my nOrh 9.0s play rather deep (-3 dB at 33 Hz).

Thanks!

- Jay
