The Adire Audio Rava is gonna blow the doors of the Def Tech, and probably the Force too.  Do NOT pay any attention to the specs published by Def Tech, they are optimistic at best, flat out lies at worst.

Has anyone witnessed a Rava vs. Force showdown? Inquiring minds want to know...

Hi, I'm out of town for a while so I probably won't be able to take a picture and post it anytime soon... sorry.   (I guess I also won't be able to get much break-in time!!).   :?

Hi all,

The FORCE is in the house!  It got delivered yesterday morning by UPS.  It was very well packed (double boxed, with thick packing insulation) and was in perfect shape after the long trip to Hong Kong.

I got to unwrap it prior to running off to the office (yeah, busy weekend!).  The rose walnut panels are nicely finished.  I got to hook it up last night.  I plopped it in between my main speakers (using a "free" 1.5m IC I got with a tv or vcr; I've got a Bolder Cable 4m M-80 subwoofer IC on t ...

I think you should try the sub w/o the transformer, even rated high enough they strain the dynamics.  Try and tell.

Hi Josh,

Yes, I agree with you.. will try it out but I had to do it at the start out of necessity... the power cord of the Force is only6 feet long and my Blue Circle is the nearest outlet to plug it into...  The next nearest outlet is where all my non-audio junk gets plugged into... tv, cable box, cable modem, wireless LAN... I hope all the noise doesn't hurt the sound quality of the sub too much.

Ok Force owners... I am sub shopping for mixed music/HT -- considering the Force and DIY Cable's new Micro WMD kit. The textured/architectural black finish will be fine. We're house shopping so don't ask about the room, but suffice it to say that I'll add a second sub later if need be, I really prefer that solution over one big sub.

The Force is ~$300 more, but the specs indicate 20-250 +/- 3db. There aren't specs for the Micro yet, but Kevin has suggested that it's roughly equivalent to the Rava, which goes -3db @ 27Hz.

Mike D at ACI is a class act, and I don't doubt his specs. But, as Force owners, how would you judge the Force's output in the 20-30Hz range? Is the output sufficient to warrant paying the extra $300 over the Micro WMD kit? Or, if I want bass in that range should I just suck it up and get a Titan?

ACI has free shipping through the end of the year, by the way.

Huh?  The 6.9's drop like a STONE @ 80.

I've moved the sub next to my couch, and it is plugged into an extension cord along with a lamp, not into my balanced power supply.  Seems to sound ok.  It is mostly not locate-able.  Fills in the bottom end but not super authoritative.  I haven't had much of a chance to listen in the the last month though.

:o Haven't seen that in awhile.  I get the drop at 80 but in my room with my measurements it recovers by the next test tone and starts dropping after that.  Don't have the notes here for exact numbers.
