Do you have pictures of your HT-3's?  They are on my short list and am also considering the crotch mahogany.  I've seen the ones on the Salk site, just wanted to see yours if able.

I have a compromised listening/living room, so I have quite a few degrees of toe in.

If it is "Crotch Mahogany", good choice. Mine is actually African Crotch Makore, if you really wanted to be technical. The pics are on the Salksound website.

I moved the speakers out into the Cardas placement position today.  We'll see how long that flies because each speaker is 104.5 inches out from the front wall.  I will say the sound is excellent in this position, well balanced with a great soundstage.
