Hello everyone!

I'm starting up a new audio classifieds/auctions site located at http://www.hifihock.com. If you can please take a quick look and tell me what you think about it, I'd appreciate it.

It is a brand new site though, so there is very little traffic on it but before I start promoting it, I'd like to hear your opinion.

Thanks much in advance.

Hey - I really like the site. Very easy to look around and a visually appealing look. I'm not sure how to purchase anything though. There isn't any BUY or BID buttons etc... I'm not looking to purchase anything right now, but as a site browser it is always nice to see how everything works. That way I have it in the back of my mind when I'm shopping for equipment or selling equipment. If I don't know the mechanics of the site I am more likely to rule it out right away and clear my brain's cache of the site :-)

Other than that I think you have a great idea. Competition is always good!

Let me know if I can help you out in any way.

Thank you Chris, very much. I just got your registration in... When logged in, you can click on "contact seller" link found to the right of each listing (detail). This will take you to the email form. In "my account", you can specify email settings, public or private.... You'll get a hang of it.

Again, thanks so much for registering and your comments. Please don't hesitate to email if you have any issues whatsoever. As for your help, if you can just test drive the site, email issues, questions, comments etc... I'm planning to listen to you guys right now and, and if we all like the end result, the word will spread.

P.S. Love your site though...

I find Agon's search by zip code very useful.  Searching from two digits to 5 digits is cool too.

Hi Dragan, I think it looks good, too, but it could look better.  Do your homework.  Step up and take a piece out of Audiogon.  They DO use an awful lot of censorship in their forums which can be infuriating to lots of people.  They are strickly about the business end and they force small business to ante up.  Present yourself to the public as their equal.  Like Avis has to Hertz for years.  Some people will prefer you just cause you're not them but they need to percieve that you can be as effective.  Perception is created.  Come on like a bad mutha.  For starters, tell people you are Audiogon's new alternative.  Use the growing unpopularity of Audiogon as a mantle.  You have this cowboy's very best wishes!

Thanks guys, appreciate it.

Hifihock has different policies...on everything. No charge for wtb ads, no differentiation between dealers/manufacturers and third party, no advertising, no ad counting to push members from a cheap group into more expensive one. No censorship in forums, like kbuzz3 already said..., no percentage fees collected at auction end.

Pricing policy is very simple - $2.00 for simple ad/auction for everyone. Ad upgrades (bold text etc) also cost $2.00 each if you so choose.  Storefront feature (you can read more about on the site) is available to everyone for $50.00/month whoever wants it. Upon registration, members get 10 credits ($10) valid for one year to try the site while I go out and try and promote it so it's worth everybody's while.

MaxCast, I'll be installing the search by zip along with few other things in about month from now. I have couple of things that I need to complete and would like to give everybody more time to comment etc. Then, I'll do it all at once...

Again, thanks for your comments and please let me know if there is anything else you guys think should be done with the site.

jimdgoulding - I love it... I've heard every word you said and couldn't agree with you more. Once I get some feedback from you guys on the functionality etc, I'll try and hit the ground running.

As for being Agon equal, man I wouldn't want to. I'd like to make hifihock as efficient for people buying and selling, but attitude-wise, I don't want to be Agon equal.
I think you know what I mean... :-)

Love what you said though... I thank you for it!

Dragan-  Boris is a nice cat.  Very hospitable and encouraging to me when I joined AC.  He may not even remember it but I do.  Permit me to take this opportunity to recognize and thank him, and John R., too.

By all means Jim. I thanked Boris number of times for his kind words, support and his comments about hifihock.
