Front Power Switch on Bryston 9BST Pro
« on: 10 May 2008, 12:26 pm »
Hi,

I recently purchased a used 9BST Pro.  The amp sounds great.  The only issue I am experiencing is that the button on the front of the unit does not respond to turn the amp off.  It is set up for local operation ie. slide button on rear is in local.  It appears that the front on/off button is stuck, it is completely depressed and does not do anything when pushed.  Any one else experience this and know of a quick fix.  I would rather not ship to Byston for repair if this is something that could be done by myself.

Folks, I found the following thread and I am having the exact same issue.   http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=17452.0

Looks like I will have to send the amp in for service.  Since I live in Atlanta I will have to ship the unit to the repair center.  This amp is 9 years old.  Is there anything as far as upgrades that I should have done while it is there.  The switch will be warranty work, but if there are other upgrades that should be done even if I pay out of pocket it makes sense to have them done.

Hi Bob,

You can have the channels upgraded to an SST if you wish.
