Based on this posting:  "The level of IR interference changes based on the Energy Saving feature of the TV (E.SAVING button is 2 buttons below the number 9 on the Samsung TV remote). The Sci. Atl. cable box/remote work best when the TV is set to OFF or LOW Energy Saving. I'm guessing that the emitted IR frequencies at the MEDIUM or HIGH settings are closest to my cable box's IR frequency."

The LCD backlight operates using PWM signal (pulses), so when the energy saving feature is turned on, it gives out PWM signal that's similar to IR remote signal.  Try to adjust and change the Energy saving, and see if it helps.

The other method, is to use block the AVP17 (such as putting it in a shelf with black-glass door) from Samsung, and place an IR extender as close to AVP17 as possible.   One example from Ebay:

Hi there.

I'm usually over at the C|Net:Samsung Forum following up on issues such as these.

I saw this post, and wanted to let you, and other users know that this issue has been addressed by Samsung.  If you call 800-SAMSUNG, you can request a service technician come out and swap an internal part that will fix the IR interference issue.

Please let me know if this information was helpful to you.
