Here's an eco friendly vehicle I wouldn't mind having:

Here is my choice.  It's not the fastest of the bunch, but it's a work of art that is too nice to keep in the garage.  I'd have to get a door cut into my house to allow me to park it in the family room.  I was in love with this car in 1978 (I know it's a 69 but he bought it in '77) when my neighbor (the guy who lived on my corner) pulled up with one (not exactly the same, he had a black RS) and I'm still in love today.  Thinking of cashing in the kid's college fund and my 401K!  He'll understand when I let him drive it!

I'll third the Atom.  That's a car where you could realistically consider outrunning the cops and winning.  Of course, you'd be easy to find eventually.  Getting a face full of bugs might be nasty, though.

Ooh wait, but that Fuel Vapor car is lucious too!  What a paint job!

I used to have an 18-SSS version when I was a kid. I'd love to have a BRE to put in my collection.

That companys 'FAQs" are very funny!
Here's one of my favorites:

Q: Is the alé “tippy” on corners? {ale is the name of the car}

A: No. In fact it is very stable. During our track testing we have achieved readings of over 1.7g’s while cornering. This means that when you corner in the alé the blood in your brain all goes to one side and you pass out. Just like in a fighter jet. Our tests have also found that passing out can cause the vehicle to crash into things, so we are working on a solution to that.

That 1.7G turn is the "Near Death Experience" feature!  When you drive this car you'll think you died and went to heaven!  It does look like they chopped out the cockpit of an F1 jet and put wheels on it.  Somehow I don't think I'll be able to scrape together that $75,000+, though. :(

Hey Marbles, believe it or not, my wifes uncle (Gordon Buehrig) designed that boat tail speedster. He also had the Stutz Blackhawk, Duesenberg, Auburn, a couple of mid-50's Fords and several other cars as his credits. Gordon pioneered hidaway headlights and the T-Tops (of mid-70's Z-28 and Firebird fame). Seems to me he had something to do with intermittent wipers too but I might be wrong.

If you get a chance, you really need to drive down to Auburn to his museum (the Cord Auburn Duesenberg Museum). After going threw all I can say is WOW.

Heres a little clip from Wikipedia on Gordon.

Me, I want to own a sled.

....or two

...and a pick'em up

.....and maybe something that goes fast....really fast

Scott, that's about 20 minutes from my house...I've been there lots and love it.  I always try to take out of towners there.

Your wifes uncle had talent out the wazzoo.

O.K., this isn't a car, but I'd like to have one - especially with the motor replaced by a TDI diesel so I could get 25 mpg instead of 10:

We were there a few years back and got the grand tour (behind the velvet ropes). We got to go to the clay model shop and check out some the tools he used plus we went back into the old assembly plant. Very cool plus we got treated like royalty since we were related. It was a great trip. We've talked about going back a few times but haven't found the time. We''l make it up sooner than later.

Hey, did you get to witness the Cord/Auburn/Dues Anniversary and parade that happened a few years ago?
