MPS2 : Front fascia revision(s) ?
« on: 14 Apr 2008, 08:19 pm »
Hi,

I'm a proud owner of the fabulous BP26 / MPS2 couple and I'd like to know if there has been changes in the front fascia / toggle switch of the MPS2 (James ?). I explain my curiosity : from the beginning, I noticed the hole in the fascia for the power switch was a straight hole with the toggle touching the fascia while it was in the "ON" position. Coming from Bryston, I found it to be of "poor design". In a picture found on a recent review, it seems to me that this design has been changed. In fact, on the bad picture I have, it seems that now the hole on the fascia is a countersunk hole with the toogle swith (different model ?) perfectly aligned so it can't touch the aluminium plate and make a mark on it after frequent switching. Can someone confirm the modification ?

Bests,

Aramys

Hi Aramys;

Would it be possible to send me a picture of the power switch on your MPS2, and the serial # of the unit?  E-mail directly to mpickett@bryston.ca.

We did use a different switch on the very first few units, and it was mounted on the circuit board instead of to the front bracket as the new ones do.  Because of this, the body of the switch was further inside than the current ones wind up, but it still shouldn't be contacting the dress panel.

Thanks,

Mike
