I don't like bybees on my amp's power either. I go straight to the wall.

I stumbled onto a website that reminded me of this thread: pretty good instructions for DIY and pics--

There are several pages. Interestingly, it just uses power cord meant for a range/stove, cutting off the plug & substituting Hubbell.
