Old Zenith Console
« on: 3 Apr 2008, 10:50 pm »
I did a little curb shopping :? today and found a cool old Zenith console stereo. Its chassis number is 25ZT120. It has a tuner, a record changer (plays 16's, 33's, 45's, and 78's), and RCA connectors for a tape in and out. It also has a switch for internal and external speakers. It powers up and plays. The quality isn't great, but it's still pretty cool. The speakers consist of 12 inch woofer, part number 49-1045; a tweeter (3 inch), part number 49-1094; and a horn, part number 49-1042. So... the question is... what's the best thing to do with this beast. It's probably about 6 feet long. I really don't have room for it in my "man-cave" but it seems like there has to be some cool project potential. I am thinking about putting the speakers in their on cabinets and maybe doing the same for the receiver and record changer. Any input or ideas would be great. I haven't found anything on the net yet, but I'm still looking.
