Bridging ZR Series Amps

Has anyone bridged the ZR series amps? If so, what connection method was used for bridging?

I have 2 ZR1600's. I put the amps into mono mode by pushing
the rear mono swictch in. I feed channel 2 and I use the 2 center
bananas ( + / - from the 2 channels) to each speaker.
Did someone say DYNAMIC RANGE?

Hi JKelly,

I would like to know what speakers you are using with your bridged ZR1600. I am driving 2 pairs of speakers with one ZR 1600; A pair of Maggie 1.6's (modified) and Ruark Crusader 2's.

Also did you try your speakers with one ZR 1600 first? If so, did you notice any other difference besides what you indicated as a powerful dynamic range?

What cables are you using?

Incidentally, this morning I was listening to a CD of Yo Yo Ma and Shostakovish's late quartets and Stravinsky's "the Rights of Spings," and was swept into a deep emotionally sublime musical mood...incredible!!!...

There are a number of cable companies that I know of that will terminate their cables to meet the best possible connections for the ZR amps. I have a friend who has the ZR-1600 amplifier mated to a IRD-Audio LLC-Purist preamp and Energy Connoisseur C-9 speakers. He uses cables from cobaltcables.com. His interconnect is a 1/4 RCA male to XLR male and his speaker cables are Speakon to spade. Bolder Cable will also terminate any of their cables likewise. According to Carver, the above type connections are the best for their ZR series amplifiers. I contacted Home Grown Audio as well. They can do the interconnect, but are not able to offer Speakon termination at this time.
