SP Tech Speakers and Amplification: Owner's List
« on: 30 Mar 2008, 10:13 pm »
With some of the recent posts and inquiries, I thought it might be a good idea to have a single thread that lists the SP Tech speaker amp/combos that owner's are using/or have used and that work and sound great together. Please disclose if it is a tube, solid state, or "digital" amp and the rated output power into 8 and 4 Ohms. Including room size would also be helpful.

If you guys think this is a worthless thread, Bob can send it to the SP tech waste bin.

Okay, I'll start:

Speakers:  SP Tech Continuum 2.5 III

Amps:  Theta Citadel 1.5 mono blocks-     425 w/ch 8 Ohms and 625 w/ch into 4 Ohms        Solid State.    My current amp.
BAT VK-600SE stereo amp-         300 w/ch 8 Ohms and 600 w/ch into 4 Ohms         Solid State.    Previous amp.

Room size is 21.5' x 17' x 7.5'.  Listen to all types of music at moderate, to sometimes loud levels.

Just a suggestion based on similar threads... if owners are willing to host auditions, they may want to mention that fact as well as their city/zip code/general area/etc..

Have you tried driving the Mini's yet with your Bella EXtreme Reference 3205 amplifier? A few Mini owners have inquired.

If you find yourself in this God-forsaken state, you're welcome to contact me for an audition. :(

Being in Aus its a bit difficult to take you up on your kind offer.  But its great that you posted your system - been meaning to ask exactly what it is for a while now.

Thanks
Bill
