Photo Scanner recomendations please

Looking to purchase a photo scanner, i'd like to keep it around $500. Any suggestions ??

The Nikon "Coolscan V ED" seems nice.

Since you mentioned the Nikon, do you want a film/negative scanner or a photo scanner?

spend a little more money and buy one of the best out there. An Epson V750. By the time you out grow a couple lesser ones you could be using one of these with a couple hundred dollars left in your pocket
