Great write-up, Ted.  :thumb:

The Straleys surprised the heck out of me.  Of all the components, cables and other audio associated equipment I've used in my system, Gregg's cables are far and away the biggest bang for the buck I've come across.  May be the biggest surprise I've come across period, but then the only other component I've tried that could be considered waaaaaaaaaaay outside the mainstream came from a speaker manufacturer in northern Indiana.

'Course, you know how that one turned out, doncha Ted.   :green:

Thanks Ted for taking the time to share your very interesting views, especially those of the Synergistic Research Tesla Accelerators. I've been looking for some objective thought on active shielding and what's to be expected and your insights filled alot of gaps and answered alot of my questions,,, thanks!  :thumb:

Cheers,
Robin

Great read Ted-  My Reality speaker cables should be arriving this week. I'm sure it's been said before, but Gregg's customer service is beyond reproach.  He went out of his way to get me a set of Cardas "paddle" spades for the amp termination which are designed to go with the custom designed Dave Reich binding posts on my Theta Citadels. This should prove to be an ideal connection and based upon what I've read, the Reality cables should be fantastic.  Look for my impressions later this week.

Thanks for the feedback guys.  Robin, the Tesla's are incredible cables (they needed to be to beat the Reality cables by a hair or two) and their active shielding is the real deal.  Of course, SR has introduced a dual tubed power supply for the cables (1932 tubes powering up cable dialectrics??) that only cost $8000!!  It's called the Enigma (probably cuz they don't know how something outside the signal path can do such a job).  It's freaky!!  And wayyy too expensive.

Frank, George, Jim...Gregg's cables are something special.  They look like XLO's but sound like Tesla's, and cost less than a good meal in Midtown.  Wow.

Pat, I am convinced that the Revs need a foundation...in fact, Rx8man's good friend, Joe, came over this afternoon and during the process of blowing him away with the Revs (he now loves them) he mentioned that they'd do even better with Sistrum/Star Sound Audio Points under them.  So yes, some sort of spike or solid foundation.  Mine actually sway (on fairly thick carpet/pad on top of concrete slab) currently.  Joe also chastised me for not having cable lifters.    :)

If one ordered these cables in an 8 ft biwire set they would come with another unusual setup at the speaker (in this case, crossover) end, a unique y-adapter that comes off the spade connector and adds an additional 6 inches of cable and another set of spades.  You see, SR believes that shotgunning or double runs of cable are both wasteful and electrically problematic.  They believe the signal from the amp travels a different path when there is a tweeter at the other end, as opposed to a woofer, and that these different loads cause smearing, etc.  Instead, they like the idea of jumpers, but like even better their integrated one.  A biwired 8 ft set runs about $1600 list.
(part one ends)

Would you like a picture?

Amazing stuff Ted! I am very interested in what you have to say about the Reality Cables.  I wonder how their IC's would sound between some like the Integra 9.8/Onkyo 885 and the Modwright 36.5? Your thought about the possible thinness of the Blue Jean XLR is food for thought.

Great, great review.

Not mine.  I just emailed Bob to ask whether they have threaded holes.  I haven't worked out enough to lift them to see (where's Casler when you need him?)

Outriggers might look good on them.  I wonder if mine have the threaded holes.  Bob will respond to my email likely tmrw.  He usually is very good about that.

That's what I'll use.  IMO, Sistrum's stands are idea for these or any speakers, especially the SP-101s.

I have one SP-101 available now that the monoblocks are gone, so I'll have to get another before the Revs arrive.  In the meantime, I'll continue enjoying Timepieces sitting atop .2AP Audio Points, which are in turn pressing into the top of stands half-full of Micro-Bearing Conductive Steel Fill Material and supported by threaded Audio Points.

Yeah, I like their stuff.

FWIW, I believe Steve used Audio Points beneath his Revs, though I can't tell from this picture -

Soundocity outriggers seem perfect for them (as well as for the Continuum 2.5s).

Checks in the mail, Pat.  You trust me... right?

Yep.  In fact, I believe Karsten may have his on -101s.

Regardless, I hope he sees this thread and offers the benefit of his experience.  No one has owned Revs longer or experimented more with them than Karsten.

MY BAD!

I just found the lost baggie of cones and threaded bolts (wish I found a lost baggie of other stuff   8) ).  Bob and Jason left them for me; I had decided not to do the spikes until I found the best speaker position.  DUH!!!

Thanks Bob for reminding me of our decision not to put them on.  A senior moment..... :duh:
