I think I've run mine down on my Sig70s one too many times and they need replacement.  Is this something I have to order online or could I find them locally?  (Austin, TX)  Thanks!!

A lot, and I mean a lot of places sell those SLA UB-1250's for cheap (please double-check if that is the correct battery with Vinnie, but I'm 99% sure it is).  Just google the battery model and a bunch of online stores will pop up, thats how I got my replacements.

Batteries Plus sells them in Austin, but they are expensive.  Iron Lion is suggesting the route I went in replacing the batteries in my Sig 30.  Just use the "Shopping" search in Google and you can get your search results with the price listed.

Just checked one of my old emails, and it is in fact the UB1250 that you want, assuming the Sig 30 and 70 use the same batteries, which I believe they do.

All,

Yes, search for "UB1250" in google and you'll find online retailers for this.  You need two of them (yes, the same batteries are used in the Sig 30 as the Sig 70s.. .and the .2 models).

When you receive them, I recommend that you voltage test them before you install them.  IMO, the voltage should be at least 12.6V... otherwise, the battery was sitting on the shelf too long without enough charge and it might not last as long as it should.

Also, the battery voltage of each battery should be close (ideally within 0.1V of each other).

Next, make sure you FULLY CHARGE the new batteries after you install them, and BEFORE you use the unit.

Vinnie--

Can just the SMART board be added to an existing unit?  What is the cost?

That's who I recently ordered a pair from. I'd recommend them as a good source.

I purchased a 2 pk from Factoriesonline ebay store in January 2008 for my Sig 30.  $25.88 plus shipping for 2 pk which I found to be good deal.  Prompt shipping.  I just checked and the 2pk are in stock and "buy it now" same price.

Hi Vinnie,
Here's a question: How do I fully charge the SLA battery before installing it into my Sig. 30?

Hi Michael,

Welcome to audiocircle and the RWA forum!

Simply install the batteries in the Sig 30 and then connect the charger.  Fully charge the new batteries before using the Sig 30.
