Woodsyi,

Stayonline also carries the nominally same receptacle the 5262 for a buck less. The difference is that the 5262 uses unplated brass, whereas the 8200 has nickle plated brass. -

As to whether unplated brass is preferable to nickle plate brass... discuss amongst yourselves. :)

Your second choice is more problematic, unless you're feeding the Felix from a 20amp circuit. The C320 C20 inlet is different from the more typical C320 C14 15amp inlet that mate with most IEC cords and found on most components. Be sure you're getting the right type. I don't see any C14 inlets at stayonline, but most of the distributors carry them from SwitchCraft, Schurter, Bulgin, etc... and more bespoke ones, Furutech, Oyide, Acme, etc... are availtable through more audiophile oriented suppliers.

Thanks for the tips, Occam.  I think I will leave the picking of parts to the experts and exit the stage.   Good luck on the new venture.

Gordy sent me some of those strain reliefs.  I haven't tried them yet.  I admit that I am not quite sure how they work yet.  I haven't toyed around with them.  Up till now I had been using the electrical box wire clamps.  Not sure what they are officially called.  I put the screw down clamping part on the inside.

P.S.  if any of you don't have an aversion to changing out the plugs on your fancy power cords, the Neutrik line of powercon connectors work really nicely and they only require a 25mm hole.  They are cheaper than IEC plugs and lock in, which is a plus.

That would be an interesting option, particularly for someone with a fairly static system who is making custom length power cords anyway.

Sounds like a great idea.  Do you maybe have a linkie to those Neutriks somewhere?

I buy mine at a local pro audio parts shop, but you can buy them all over the place on the web.  Both Markertek.com or Partsexpress.com carry them and I've ordered from them before.

P.S. 25mm is from memory, double check with the specs.  I know that standard imperial unit bits were slightly too large or too small.

Thanks.  I'm searching various spots now.  While I knew about Speakons, I'd never heard of that product before and it presents a nice option.  Neutrik's site is bombing on my FF browser, so I'll check some of the other places.

Powercon Connectors -

PartsExpress has them at reasonable prices.
Remember that for both chassis and cable mounted Powercons, power 'in' and 'out' are different to enforce hetrosexuality. :o 'IN's can only mate with 'OUT's, and versa visa.

Payments are ~95% complete - thanks to everyone for getting your money in quickly.  I'll be out all day tomorrow, but I expect I'll be able to place the orders on Sunday (hopefully the last will be received and/or cleared by then).

Bah - I was finalizing things and realized I had the wrong part number for one of the JW Miller coils the whole time.  The 4A, 12mH part is 8111, not 8113.  I'll have to send notes to the handful of people who wanted those to double-check and verify they based their choice on the listed spec rather than the part number.  Interestingly, those were pretty much all international orders.

I'll be ordering parts tonight.  It looks like we only had one no-show (a new member, not an established one), so the quantities have stayed pretty constant.

What were the final quanities for each of the parts?

380 boards
1600+ capacitors
just under 250 CMC's

It looks like everything except the boards shipped today.  The boards take about two weeks, so I'll have time to divide up and package everything else before they arrive.

I've been out of town for a few days, but I'm back and most of the parts are in.

Here are the caps and the JW Miller CMC's:

Here are most of the CoilCraft CMC's, it looks like the handful of 4018's are backordered and won't be in until April 14th, so people who ordered those might lag behind the others for shipping by a few days.

I just received the shipping notice from PCBExpress.  The boards should be here this week.  I have started sorting the orders, but I need to go out and buy a stack of boxes to ship them in.

I just got a shipping e-mail from CoilCraft for the remaining CMC's.  I guess there won't be a delay for anyone who ordered those since they should be here right after the boards arrive.

I've been bagging caps in the evenings - it takes a while to divide and bag 1600 caps.  :)  I feel like a pharmacist counting pills for bottles.
