Question for XDC-2 owners
« on: 23 Feb 2008, 11:45 pm »
Besides removing mechanical hum from the transformers, did you hear any sonic improvements?  The times that my system isn't sounding as good, seem to coincide with transformer hum. The transformer hum itself does not bother me, I can't hear it when the music is playing, but if it is the cause of less than ideal sound, I want to put an end to it.

Thanks for any feedback.

I just installed an XDC-2 onto my main front amp (proceed hpa-3). Not only did the mechanical hum go from being heard across the room to needing to have your ear within a foot to hear, but the sound seemed to have a smoother less edgy feel to it.  I was so happy with the improvement that I ordered a second one for my rear equiptment rack.   I have a serious DC issue on the mains line coming from one of my neighbors.  The intensity of the hum would change throughout different times of the day/night.  Great product!!!

No sonic improvements but hum was reduced!
