Which legal download service has the biggest selection? Can it be downloaded to itunes? If so how? Thanks!

This is a really broad question. Do you care about sound quality or digital rights management? MusicGiants has a ton of high quality albums from major labels.

Can you be more specific about what you're looking for?

Largest selection would probably be iTunes music store, which definitely integrates well with iTunes.  :)

Amazon has really gotten into the music downloads lately.  Since they are selling DRM-free mp3's, they will work in iTunes.

The other major service with a large selection is Rhapsody, which does not integrate well with iTunes and is not available on a Mac.

If you're looking for services with large selections of lossless recordings, I recommend physical CDs.  Places like MusicGiants have lots of lossless (again, Windows only), but it costs at least as much as the CD, sometimes more.

computer audiophile: I am interested in both loseless and drm. I tried Itunes to buy but unfortunately they don't hav ethe tunes I'm looking for. I was hoping another provider would have a better selection. Right now it's Top 100 Rock/Pop stuff, next Jazz. Thanks!

I think your best bet will be MusicGiants because they have most of the major label artists.

Okay,I get the point on the download now I need info on what to convert my itunes library to. It says my choices are Apple lossless, Mp3, AAC, AIFF, and WAV. Which is the best way to go?
Thanks!

My preference is AIFF because it has better tag support and is uncompressed. many people prefer other formats such as apple lossless.

itunes has AIFF plus other download methods. I've two CD's coming from Amazon. Think I'll try AIFF and Apple lossless when I download them to my PC itunes. Might hear something better than Apple lossless.
Stay tuned!!
