James,

What i meant was,is there any plan for Bryston to come out with the Bryston Dvd/ Bd player in the near future or is it already in the pipeline.I reckon it would be great if Bryston can come out with the Dvd/Bd player.Thks.

I do not blame you, but have you considered putting an Oppo on a Bryston box similar to how others have?

Cheers

Are you saying it would somehow be worth it to you to have an Oppo player with a Bryston front panel for an extra $1000?

Hi Vipers,

Yes they are very close but I would still give the nod to the BDA-1 if high res is your priority.  In all else it is really a close call.

james

Thanks James, I think with hopefully more and more hi res becoming available then the BDA-1 will be staying in my setup.

I take it swapping over the BP26 for an SP3 wouldn't give me any regrets when it comes to 2ch though?

Thanks.

Wow, like Alpha, I've just gone weak at the knees

There's going to be 10 very happy customers very shortly, I hope they use this forum, can't wait to get their feedback, although I fear it could end up putting some strain on my credit card

Correct - 2 channel bypass is essentially the same.

Do the model # start back at 000000001?  If so, I wonder who the fella or dame is that is getting it?

Being an Oppo 95 owner and knowing how good it is, I think, like Alpha, I would be tempted by a Bryston flavour of it also, especially if it was sitting with the SP3.

Exactly, unfortunately for some of us who do not have dedicated rooms, rack appeal (or WAF) is still very important, and as Viper rightly said sit an Oppo 93/95 clone with the SP3 would be lovely. Thinking about it a 93 variant is all you need as you would probably stay digital to the sp3....

I'll be using an Oppo 93 as my only digital source for my SP3 when it arrives.  For $500 it is an unbeliveable bargain.  I'm actually considering purchasing another Oppo 93 as a backup unit.  A truely universal player that also outputs 192/24 over the USB drive.

Best,
John

James,

Are you going to make blue LEDs a possibility on the SP3.0 (black 17"), to match the rest of my Bryston gear? Also if you are, will the display be blue as well or would that remain green?

Cheers
