It will say DVD as some do not know the term Bluray

james

If they don't know what Blu-ray is then they don't deserve to own one.... ;)

How about going with Video?

I think all walks of people know what DVD is and for those that are more knowledgeable DVD still has meaning with the proviso that BluRay is a more upscale version of DVD?

I am sure DVD is fine, I just felt given the target customers Bluray would have been more likely, and longer term DVD will go the way of VHS..

Just being a pest... :icon_twisted:

Digital Video Disc does still have meaning to most but 5 to 10 years from now it will most likely seem ancient but if we're going to worry about that then CD will also go that way.
Perhaps and this is just a suggestion: DVD/BD

You should work for the UN, a good idea.

Thank you for the pictures of the front and the remote.  November 1 (the tentative ship date of my unit) cannot arrive soon enough!!

Best,

So what is the cost and what dealers are accepting orders? Did you scrap the trade-in idea

As we are fond of saying here in the US gov't acquisition community, "November 1 of what year?"

This I am sure is the most anticipated release of equipment ever from Bryston and, unfortunately, I won't be able to afford one until it comes on the secondary market

James

Now that the SP3 already in the production stage i am wondering what DVD/BD player did you get it hooked up to the SP3 for your evaluation purposes?

Do you still have future plan of having an all Bryston Dvd/Bd player solely for HT only?

Hi Din,

So far I have tried 2 Pioneer players , one Panasonic Player and one OPPO player.  Plus a few shows we have done with our distributors and they have used a variety of players.

Not sure what you mean on the all Bryston DVD player - If i said that I must have been on drugs that day.

Hi James,

I'm just weighing up my options at the moment, I know a little while ago you said that you were trying the BDP-1 direct into the SP3, how did you get on, compared to the BDP-1 into the BDA-1 and BP26?

Basically, if I was to sell my BP26 and BDA-1 do you think I'd be sacrificing any performance just using the SP3 for 2ch and Multi channel?

Thanks,

James,

What i meant was,is there any plan for Bryston to come out with the Bryston Dvd/ Bd player in the near future or is it already in the pipeline.I reckon it would be great if Bryston can come out with the Dvd/Bd player.Thks.

Hi Vipers,

Yes they are very close but I would still give the nod to the BDA-1 if high res is your priority.  In all else it is really a close call.
