Yes - we are just trying to decide the mechanics of how we will structure it. The first requirement is a bill of sale for the SP processor as a starting point.

By the way we will probably continue to manufacture the SP2 as it is still a popular model for those that do not have a need for HDMI and want a quality stereo preamp/processor.

I guess you could describe it that way but that has always been the case?

The SP3 Surround Processor will do all the new High Def formats but pass on the video - exactly the same as the SP2 does now with standard DTS and DD.

Both the SP2 (5.1) and the SP3 (7.1) have Analog Pass-throughs.

Hi Carl

Had not thought about that but I would assume not as removing parts etc. from an existing product does not really save you much in overall costs. Plus you would have to develop all new software.

Hi, new poster but have been watching this thread for some time.

Regarding the trade in program, will upgraded SPs be eligible as well? I have a 1.7 that was upgraded to an SP2 and all the necessary papers on it - original BOS as well as upgrade paperwork.

Yes as long as you have proof of purchase from and authorized dealer initially you are fine.

When you say "Remote is IR, 232 and Network", does that mean the SP-3 can be controlled by an iPhone or iPad app like the BDP-1?

If so, do you have any pics that show what the interface might look like?

Hi Gary,

I will have to ask the engineer on that one but I know it has an Eternet interface which will allow us to view your unit on the network for updates and trouble shooting etc.

I bought a second hand SP-1 and had it upgraded to an SP-1.7 by an authorized dealer. I don't have the original bill of sale. Would the 1.7 upgrade receipt be valid for an SP-3 trade-in ?
